This painting was percolating in my mind for a long time. I often hiked through the Aspen groves in Colorado while hunting or on a backcountry trip. It was a June day on a late morning hike that captivated the moment and the idea went into creation. While gathering material for the painting and at almost perfect timing, a friend of ours sent a picture of an Aspen setting we had visited with them near Flagstaff, AZ. I was allowed to use that image to build in the main setting for this painting of mine to date.
